Traditional Irish, Scottish and Newfoundland Music

Corkery Road formed in a little pub in Carleton Place, Ontario in January of 2007.
Already friends who enjoyed playing Celtic Music, the group decided to take on
the Ottawa area scene and a band was born.

With a sound much like the Irish Rovers, Corkery Road has played to enthusiastic
audiences throughout at bars and pubs, festival stages, private house parties,
corporate events, weddings and even at a wake.

Each on their own has their distinct style and abilities;
together they form a veritable powerhouse of musical talent and energy.

John Fife, on fiddle, guitar and vocals, is an almost life-long resident of the Ottawa Valley. He has had a long love affair with Celtic and Old Time music and has performed with many well-known Valley musicians at local community dances. His driving, powerful voice and unique style bring his hard-living songs to life.

Jennifer Hoy, on bodhràn and vocals, plays a fine counter-point to John's raucous tunes with her airs and love songs. she also lays down the rhythms that drive the songs on.

Charles Dunlap, playing guitar, mandolin, whistles and sometimes harmonica, has been a musician all his life with forays into percussion, rhythm and melody. It was a chance encounter with an inmate that inspired him to pick up the guitar and he hasn’t looked back since. Celtic music sparked his passion 10 years ago and now that it has him it just won’t let him go.

Gord Manuel was born and bred in Twillingate, Newfoundland. He specializes in button accordion and his strong melodies form the backbone of the band and lend that distinctive sound from the sea.
